Darfur Peace & Development is a non-profit, non-sectarian organization with headquarters in Washington, DC and offices in Khartoum and El Fasher Sudan.

DPDO provides humanitarian and development assistance to the victims of conflict in Darfur, Sudan without regard to ethnicity, gender, age or religious beliefs.

DPDO works to foster reconciliation, to facilitate just governance and to enable Darfurians to rebuild their homeland in effective, sustainable ways.

DPDO also promotes awareness of the crisis in the United States and advocates for a peaceful resolution of the conflict.




     Darfur Schools Program
     DPDO has received a UNICEF in-kind donation of much needed school and teacher      supplies valued at $24,000. Distribution to the schools has been completed.

     Staff Change
     Darfur Schools Program Coordinator Karri Deselm is leaving DPDO August 19th to
     work in Burundi. Karri has been a driving force behind the development of the School
     Program. DPDO will sorely miss her dedication, ingenuity and design talent. Please

8/27/08 - Darfur officials resign in protest over refugee camp massacre

August 26, 2008 (KHARTOUM) – A number of officials in the regional government of South Darfur handed down their resignations in protest over events that occurred in a refugee camp on Monday.
