Arcadia High School STAND
Arcadia High School in Phoenix, Arizona has been a supporter of the Darfur Schools Program for two years. Not only have these creative and dedicated students help raise awareness about the Darfur genocide in their community, they have held numerous fundraising events that have helped sustain and enrich our programs. These events have included a t-shirt sale, a benefit dance concert, a fundraiser for clean water wells, and a community-wide candlelight vigil. Their efforts during the Spring 2008 semester allowed them to present DPDO with $3,200 for the Darfur Schools Program, and we are continually proud of what these students have accomplished.
David & Donna Frieze Fund
David and Donna Frieze of Boston married in the summer of 2007. They requested that, in lieu of wedding gifts, their friends and family send donations to DPDO. The result is a fund dedicated to the construction of a new high school in El Fasher. The North Darfur State Government has allocated 4,000 square meters of land in the central commercial district. A blueprint has been drafted and construction will begin later this year. The new high school will feature the only high school computer lab in Sudan, with 50 computers generously donated from Strayer University.

Of the several thousand dollars they raised for Darfur relief efforts, they contributed $3,404 to our Solar Cookers Project.
